Tanis filmed her ride at the WDASA practice/Video day held at Kaspian Equestrian on Sept 18th.
Team Alberta Tops Team Competition at
WDAA Online International
WDASA would like to congratulate our own Kim Scott and Tamara Turgeon, along with fellow Alberta rider Julie Moorcroft, on winning the WDAA Online International Challenge Team Competition for "Team Alberta". Not only was their team average score of 72.24% enough to win their team competition division, it was also the highest team average overall.
- Tamara Turgeon came away with Overall Reserve Champion in both Intro Open and Basic Open. Breed High Score for Friesian Cross. High Score Canadian.
- Kim Scott came away with Breed High Score for Standardbred.
- Julie Moorcroft with Backtrax Graceingold came away with: 4 Top 10 finishes, 1 Top 20 finish And 5th Overall in her division.
- The WDAA Online International saw 386 Horse/Rider combinations, 1136 rides, 6 Judges, 64 breeds, representing 7 countries from around the world.
Tamara and her horse Tristan (Nanne's Brandia Dancer) are planning to make the trek to Guthrie Oklahoma this fall to compete in the WDAA World Show. We wish them all the best!
Western Dressage Association of America World Show 2016
A few of our members recently attended the WDAA World Show held in Guthrie,
Oklahoma Sept 29th to Oct 2nd, 2016.
Jacklyn Hegberg and Chip N At Midnite competed in the Jr Division in Basic and Level 1.
Julie Moorcroft competed with two horses Backtrax Grace in Gold in Introductory - Open,
and All About Bling in Basic - Open.
Sharon Crawford competed in Level 3 Amateur and
Sandra Oxtoby competed in Level 3 Open.
The group was accompanied by Lisa Wieben (coaching Jacklyn) and Joanne Hegberg
(Jacklyn's mom). The ladies arrived in Guthrie on Monday so the horses would have a few
days to recover from the 3 day trip down before competing.
Sept 29th, Thursday, started the show off with the Suitability and Equitation Classes.
Jacklyn Hegberg competed in Jr. Equitation and finished Reserve World Champion.
Friday started off the Dressage Tests. Each day (Friday to Sunday) World Champion
jackets were given to each class winner. The overall champion awards were given out
Sunday and were tabulated from the average between Test 4(Sunday) and the highest
score from the other two tests (Friday and Saturday).
